Fine Touch Services was founded in early 2018 by local resident Jake Morris, myself. I attended Mt. Vernon high school in Fortville, IN. However, I have been a resident in the Fishers and McCordsville communities for my entire life. Growing up, I lived in Fishers, but in 2015 my mother moved a few miles away to a residency in McCordsville. During my elementary years, I found a love for mowing grass and doing other service work. I am not really sure why, but every time my dad went out to mow the lawn, I would go with him asking him to teach me how to do it. When I got to be in seventh grade, my dad let me take over the lawn mowing. I mowed the grass for my dad, my mom, and my grandparents. As time went on, being the entrepreneur that I have always been, I wanted to create a business that involved this service. My dad and other mentors that have been in my life since I was a little kid always told me that when I create the business, the most important thing is making sure that the customer is cared for and that you stay in communication with the customer whenever they would need it. This is a principle that I have continued to use throughout the entirety of this business’ history. When spring of 2018 came around, I was just a junior in high school. I had only had my drivers license for a little over a year and a half. Those circumstances did not stop me. I wanted to start a business at a young age and learn concepts quickly. I started with a push mower and a Chevy trailblazer, picking the mower up and putting it in the trailblazer at each house. I had four clients, and three of them were family members. As the year went on in 2018, I took the majority of that year learning the ropes of how to operate a business in this area. I also learned how to properly communicate and treat customers. 2018 was a big year for me in terms of picking up the ideas of business and how to properly operate it. Then, 2019 came around. This was the year when Fine Touch Services began to explode. As the year began, I was still working by myself with a push mower, a string trimmer that I bought from a pawnshop, and a small backpack blower that my dad let me use. Early in the year, I had 9 clients. But as each week progressed it seemed as if I was picking up multiple clients each week. By June 2019 I had over 30 clients, mainly just from word of mouth referrals. It had gotten to the point where I could just no longer treat customers correctly by myself, therefore I went out and I hired on some of my friends to help me complete the jobs correctly. I wanted to have two people working on the project to make double sure that it was done correctly! I trained these friends and lost a couple, but the majority of them stayed with me and are still with me today. As 2019 went on, by the end of the year my business had served over 250 different clients on several different types of services. We also had a consistent basis of over 45 clients a week mowing grass. Towards the end of the year, I went out and purchased a Dixie chopper zero turn mower, an Exmark Walk-Behind mower, a new blower, a new trimmer, and a new trailer. It was time to really expand the business and make everything official. In January 2020, my business was turned into an LLC, and I purchased a pick-up truck to help run the business correctly. During that time frame, we also got insured, and did many other things to help make the business professional. Today, I am proud to say that this is one of the companies that I run full-time and that I would love nothing more than to help you save your time by hiring us to do the work for you! However, our bread-and-butter service is lawn-mowing and maintenance. That is what our company was founded on and along the way we have picked up other trades to assist our customers in more ways than one.
